WALK PINK – OCT 28, 2017 POST 27

Hello My Happy Daisy List readers,

Today was an especially happy blessed day.  Of course I’m out of sequence again, but I feel compelled to write about this today.

I attended a Walk Pink in Lahaska, PA., this morning.  The sponsor of the walk was the shop owner of a beautiful shop called the Lace Silhouettes Lingerie and she has been sponsoring these walks for 28 years.  Many major kudos to her.

My friend Hattie had invited me to do the walk months ago, but at 6:00 this morning I had no desire to go.  It was dark and chilly and I had so much work to do on the Blog.  But my daughter popped into my bedroom and reminded me of my plans.  I can’t tell you how happy I am that she did.  Aside from it being for a good cause, I definitely need the exercise, and on top of everything else, I met so many wonderful people.

The shop is so beautiful. When I first walked in it reminded me of how wonderful I would feel after a treatment when I would wrap myself in a warm comfortable sweater or robe or blanket.  But the robes and blankets in this shop were so much more beautiful and luxurious.  Absolutely lush, I actually wanted to wrap myself in any one of them.  I think most people that have had chemo know what I’m talking about.  That warm comfy feel of lush fabric almost makes you feel safe after a treatment.  It’s such a GREAT feeling.

My team name was Pink Warriors, another team had these great pink Boa’s on.  Someone over heard me say I loved the boa’s and one of the woman was having a little allergic reaction and she offered hers to me.  I thought that was so awesome.  As we talked we found out we had the same name, and as the rest of her team joined our conversation, we found out we were “ALL” survivors, from 3 months to 20 years.  WOW!!!

As many times as I’ve been to Peddler’s Village, I had no idea there was so much more than the main street.  We walked the mile through and around the village and I wanted to stop and linger at each shop.  However I have to say I was afraid that I’d get a cavity just from walking past all the sweet shops.  I didn’t stop in any of the shops today, but you can believe I’ll be going back.

The Lace shop was great for gift buying for some of my friends and or family going through this journey.  I’ve often searched for a special gifts, but  the department stores seem to fall short of special or unique, but now I know where to go.  It’s the type of place you go to when you want something just a little more special.  Even a gift card from Lace Silhouettes Lingerie is a different special and unique kind of gift.

By the way, in case you don’t want to do the walk, but you want to support the cause, there are “OTHER” things to do!  Shop and then have a cupcake, just saying!  Anyway, I had a really Great Day and I wanted to express that right away.

Okay, time to get ready for the Holidays, Route 95 here I come again!
