Tonight I attended another Breast Cancer Awareness function, given by Missouri. Many of you may know Missouri from a prior Survivor Post I did on her.
Tonight’s event was a small affair, called, what is known in the Retail industry, as a Pop-up. Missouri firmly believes that every story has the potential to help another person, so at many of her events or gathering she’s makes an effort to connect and acknowledge cancer survivors.
HER survivor story is about building “A Place Called Home”
Missouri works at building small communities of survivor’s to share stories, inspire others and motivate people.
In one night she managed to:
- promote Breast Cancer Awareness,
- feature a snippet of her off Broadway production, STYLETAINMENT the Show
- produce a very abbreviated fashion show of her custom designed faux fur line,
- help to inspire young new talent by giving them an opportunity to perform in the night’s activities, (watch the video of interpretive dancer Imani)
- give cancer survivor’s a moment to share their stories and form relationships,
- and at the same time provide a night of free dynamic entertainment.
NOT BAD MISSOURI!
I have to give her credit this event allowed her to express all of her Passions and Purpose in one night and everyone had a GREAT time.
Before I went, I hadn’t planned on doing a post, but then I said, wait, isn’t that what Daisy List is all about. Living your BEST LIFE NOW, and giving back at the same time?
So here is just a brief look at a small event that had Big impact.
One of the highlights of the night for me was an impromptu Interpretive dance done by Imani Williams, with the background music of Diana Ross. I found the piece so moving I tried to record it the best I could. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
