SUMMER ON STEROIDS POST 22

Hello my Daisy List readers,

Between taking the journey out of sequence and lagging behind in my posts, I have to confess even I’M having trouble keeping up with the “when, where and what”.  Most of the Blog so far has been chronological, but at times I was writing in “real time” because I wanted to address an issue right away.  So bear with me, going forward it will be “as we go”!

I’ve broken my summer up into four parts because there was so much going on and my readers are requesting more pictures.   So in part one of four of my summer trek, I’ll talk about May and June of 2017.

Here we’re going right into the middle of summer 2017.  This has been a summer on steroids.  Since coming out of my battle with TAZ, I’ve been trying to live to the max every single day.  Oddly enough for that very same reason I haven’t been able to keep up with the Blog.  But here we go

May 21, 2017 – Kristina’s Bridal shower

I started the summer of 2017 by attending Kristina’s bridal shower on May 21.  What a shower.  Her wedding party went all out.  Such a creative group of young woman and they spared nothing.  The restaurant, the food, the decorations, the gifts, everything was perfect, and I don’t usually like to use that word.  In a later post I’ll explain the shower gift that I gave to Kristina.  It bears explaining.

I thought if the shower is setting the tone for the wedding, WOW, it’s going to be some Wedding!

Needless to say, A GREAT time was had by all!

June 11, 2017 SURVIVOR CELEBRATION

Next we jump into June of 2017 when I attended my second Cancer Institute of NJ (CINJ) Survivor Celebration at the Hyatt Regency.  What a celebration, the guest speaker was Vivian Stringer, the Head coach at Rutgers for Woman’s basketball.

She told her story with such grace, and I found out cancer was only “one” of her many tsunami’s, she has withstood many more.  Her book is titled “Standing Tall”, but when she finished her talk. I was wondering how she was standing “at all”.

Nothing in any news clippings, magazine articles or even in her book could truly reflect the grace in this woman.  I was so glad to have met her in person.  I plan to do a full post on her at a later date under THRIVING SURVIVORS.

I believe Kriss and Eddie are slowly becoming the poster picture of survivor’s for NJ.  They are “EVERYWHERE”.  They attend and support so many rallies, walks/runs and fund raisers, I don’t know where they get the time and energy.  God Bless them, they are trying to inspire and motivate people to go through each and every day with faith and hope no matter what.

What a great celebration.  It was my second one and I plan to attend every year.

“WOW, summer was just beginning, what a start”!
