Sometimes our DREAMS don’t originate in our own hearts and minds. Sometimes they materialize because someone we LOVE recognized our gifts and wanted to encourage and help us manifest them.
This post is about 3 young siblings of a single mother who had high hopes for them. Her DREAM was that they would be able to pursue any goal they wanted and find great success.
And they have certainly done that.
The seed might have been planted by her, but it was through hard work and perseverance that they are about to unfold those DREAMS on the WORLD stage in front of millions of viewers.
It just doesn’t get any bigger than that.
Let me introduce you to the Pina siblings from Seekonk, Mass. Because their mother posted stories about then on social media, the Cape Verdean Olympic officials took notice. As a result, they have been selected to compete in the 2020, TOKYO summer Olympics swimming competition.
As most of you know by now, my favorite thing is BRAGGING RIGHTS. I just LOVE to brag about talented and successful people. And it doesn’t always have to be just family and friends. If I can find the slightest connection, I’ll brag about people I don’t even remotely know.
This BRAG is about being of Cape Verdean descent and I can also BRAG about the Pina’s living next to my hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts. I know it’s a stretch. (smile) These swimmers make me proud to be Cape Verdean.
However, they have become much, much more than competitive swimmers, they have grown into beautiful adults.
But I don’t have to elaborate here. If you want know more about them, all you have to do is watch the 2020 TOKYO SUMMER Olympics, or Google Cape Verdean 2020 Olympic swimmers and you can learn all about them.
I’m sure I speak for every CAPE Verdean out there, when I say we will be the biggest block of supporters they have. We will cheer these young people on and hope they win metal and if they don’t, they will still be our CHAMPIONS.
Either way, this achievement of theirs will inspire so many young people of all nationalities to DREAM BIG!
