I’m sure you already know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Last night I attended The Healing Consciousness Foundation Fashion Event fund raiser. I can’t even express how inspirational it was. I hesitate to use the word inspirational because it is so over used. But the night was so upbeat. Everyone having such a great time, and yet, almost everyone there was or had dealt with cancer on a very personal level.
Everyone involved with the event, was so energetic, professional, strong, focused and determined to fight the fight. It’s weird, I only knew a few people when I got there, but by the end of the night, I felt I had found yet another Posse. It was just amazing. I knew I wanted to always be a part of this amazing group.
My friend Hattie was one of the models for the show. Last year she invited me to go on the Walk Pink fundraiser and I had such a great time, I decided to attend last night’s event also.
Among some of the special guests were: EMME the model, and a former Miss Arizona.
There is always a way to give back, Big ways, and small ways.
I’d love to encourage each and every one of you to find some way to give back. Donate, volunteer, support, encourage or whatever you can do to let all of the men, women and children out there dealing with this ugly monster know that we are all with them in the fight. We all want to find some way to support the effort and find a cure.
Although I appreciate the BIG rallies and Run/Walks, sometimes the crowds are overwhelming for me. I Love the one on one opportunity to hear other people’s stories. Some of the stories I heard last night made my journey seem like a walk in the park.
I vividly remember while I was getting my chemo treatments I watched other patients that were not only struggling with cancer but so many other issues. Transportation, language barriers, money, housing, care givers and etc., and it made me realize how fortunate and grateful I was.
There are so many options, I’m sure we can all find a way to give back.
One of the things I’ve found out that is very popular, is gift cards. Grocery, gas, restaurants, clothing stores, Home Depot, Lowe’s the options are endless. Every little bit helps someone.
These are some of my previous years participation in other RUN/WALKS.

These are years ago with Carol, Denise, and my nephew way before I ever met TAZ.
This fight belongs to all of us, so please find some way to support the Breast Cancer Awareness month in whatever way you can.
THANK YOU
